We’re proud to be supporting Limb Loss and Limb Difference Awareness Month 2021!

This year’s campaign focuses on the theme ‘Together we can do more’ and has seen a consortium of UK charities who support children, young people and adults with limb loss or difference, coming together to celebrate and promote Limb Loss and Limb Difference Awareness Month #LLLDAM

The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted on everyone’s lives, but it has had a disproportionate impact on persons with a disability. The result has been increased isolation and loneliness, with many individuals staying at home and maintaining physical distance to stay safe.

During Limb Loss and Limb difference Awareness Month (LLLDAM), the campaign and its supporters will be raising awareness and helping to combat that, through the creation of a special online hub.

We believe that working together we can achieve more and reach more of our collective community members at home when they need us the most. We hope our presence will highlight the impact of living with limb difference on both the individual and on their family and support network. We will focus on supporting and connecting community members to reduce their isolation and loneliness.

By creating a central online hub for amputees and those with limb difference to access the right support and learn more about the organisations who can help them, we can cover a greater geographical spread and community reach, bringing our community closer together.

Whether you’re affected by limb loss / limb difference or not, you can help shine a light on the issues faced and the great work that is going on in this space. Get involved by using the hashtags #LLLDAM and #limblosslimbdifference throughout April to help raise awareness and start conversations. You can also download some specially created social media graphics and find out more on the website here www.limblosslimbdifference.co.uk

This is a thoughtful reminder of how important online support and inclusive communities can be, especially when isolation affects disabled people so deeply. Even simple digital spaces like play drive mad online can play a role in keeping people connected.

This awareness month piece is a thoughtful reminder of how much language, visibility, and practical support matter for limb difference communities. I also liked seeing resources shared in the comments; for anyone interested in inclusive adventure experiences, [cowboy safari](https://www.cowboysafaris.com/) is worth a look.

This awareness month piece is a thoughtful reminder that practical resources and everyday communication both matter for limb-different kids and families. I also liked seeing the other shared links here; for anyone turning accessibility notes or resource drafts into plain copy, [markdown to text](https://mdtotext.com/) can be handy.
